Flames

World on fire smoke chokes the great cloud of witnesses their eyes water their throats burn their lungs cough up acrid breaths of transformation House on fire flames lick the sky flicker in the wind light from true light heat from true heat bury the ashes in the eruptions of the sun Soul on fire the living flame of love singes the cloak of the pilgrim flaneur wandering through dark woods climbing the infinite chain of Being Beyond on fire nothing burns the living

nothing warms

the cold limbs

of trees overshadowing workers in the field lukewarm to the touch they converge as one
